Avoid Making These Common Affiliate Mistakes!

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 4:22 am

Myths concerning affiliate marketing are appealing and attractive.  People who do not know the entire system the wrong way round are prone to believing that it is something capable of giving them great fortune overnight.  Stories concerning affiliates who earn tremendous amounts of money swim in their heads, and while these stories are as true as they can be, there are those who believe that they are going to have the same fortune once they indulge in this particular business.

Just like  risks associated with normal brick and mortar business affiliate marketing is no difference and if not done correctly, you may end up wasting perhaps not just money but also valuable time.

It is true enough that affiliate marketing is financially rewarding.  People who have gone through everything to be able to succeed in this business are reaping the seeds that they untiringly sowed.  Many of them enjoy the kind of existence that was not possible for them to have had under ordinary circumstances.  Having gone through the A-Z of affiliate marketing, however, these people are the ones who know that while such business is lucrative, there is absolutely no easy money in it.

Ignorance of this fact is one of the main reasons why there are people who fail miserably in the internet business.  There are those who believe in myths concerning the easy money involved in systems such as affiliate marketing.  They do not know that there are those who have wasted time, effort and too many resources in trying to pursue the life of ease that they believe this business will give them.  And so they go into affiliate marketing armed with nothing but myths and fantastical notions of wealth swimming in their consciousness, never realizing that they bound to make mistakes that would prove to be their downfall.

What may be the reason why in businesses such as affiliate marketing, many are called but few are chosen?  Perhaps the answer lies on the fact that many affiliates make mistakes that result from their ignorance of facts concerning how the entire business runs.  Affiliate marketing is not as simple as an affiliate promoting a merchant’s wares through his website and getting paid for it.  It is also about knowing the market and the customers at hand.

Discovering what the most common mistakes affiliates make can perhaps dispel the gloom about myths surrounding affiliate marketing by correcting some wrong notions about it.  It might also be able to make those concerned understand that like any other business, there are dos and donts involved in this one if they want to make each of their steps count.  The first common mistake affiliates make is their lack of knowledge concerning principles involved in their business.  This refers to the affiliate’s knowledge of search engines in particular.

Affiliate marketing involves advertising, and advertising through the internet could not have been better without the existence of search engines.  What every affiliate has to do is to make these search engines his best friend through studying search engine optimization closely.  This way, he is able to know what to do in connection with building a better website to ultimately use for his business.

The second is that affiliates make the mistake of stuffing their sites with banners that do not provide enough information about the product at hand.  The best way to battle this mistake is to provide good content hand-in-hand with such banners.  It is important for customers to know and understand the features of a product, and good content will be able to help them realize this goal.

The third is that there are affiliates who make the mistake of promoting only one product.  Consequently, customers are not given enough options to choose from.  There is also the risk of generating fewer sales as compared to having more options for customers ponder about.  It is always better to give them a few better alternatives than to give them only one.

The fourth is that there are affiliates who make the mistake of promoting too many products.  As a result, customers are confused and end up beyond making a choice.  It is perhaps good to give them only the best choices.  This is because it is ultimately up to them to judge which one is the best for them to patronize.

All in all, affiliates that are doomed to fail in this business are those who do not exert enough effort to understand everything involved in the industry that they are in.  Knowing their path step by careful step will prove to be beneficial to them, as there is no other way to succeed than to go through any path slowly but surely.

Top 3 Ways To Boost Your Affiliate Commissions Overnight

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 12:18 pm

The ideal world of affiliate marketing does not require having your won website, dealing with customers, refunds, product development and maintenance. This is one of the easiest ways of launching into an online business and earning more profits.

Assuming you are already into an affiliate program, what would be the next thing you would want to do? Double, or even triple, your commissions, right? How do you do that?

Here are some powerful tips on how to boost your affiliate program commissions overnight.

1. Know the best program and products to promote. Obviously, you would want to promote a program that will enable you to achieve the greatest profits in the shortest possible time.

There are several factors to consider in selecting such a program. Choose the ones that have a generous commission structure. Have products that fit in with your target audience. And that has a solid track record of paying their affiliate easily and on time. If you cannot seem to increase your investments, dump that program and keep looking for better ones.

There are thousands of affiliate programs online which gives you the reason to be picky. You may want to select the best to avoid losing your advertising dollars.

Write free reports or short ebooks to distribute from your site. There is a great possibility that you are competing with other affiliates that are promoting the same program. If you start writing short report related to the product you are promoting, you will be able to distinguish yourself from the other affiliates.

In the reports, provide some valuable information for free. If possible, add some recommendations about the products. With ebooks, you get credibility. Customers will see that in you and they will be enticed to try out what you are offering.

2. Collect and save the email addresses of those who download your free ebooks. It is a known fact that people do not make a purchase on the first solicitation. You may want to send out your message more than six times to make a sale.

This is the simple reason why you should collect the contact information of those who downloaded your reports and ebooks. You can make follow-ups on these contacts to remind them to make a purchase from you.

Get the contact information of a prospect before sending them to the vendor’s website. Keep in mind that you are providing free advertisement for the product owners. You get paid only when you make a sale. If you send prospects directly to the vendors, chances are they would be lost to you forever.

But when you get their names, you can always send other marketing messages to them to be able to earn an ongoing commission instead of a one-time sale only.

Publish an online newsletter or Ezine. It is always best to recommend a product to someone you know than to sell to a stranger. This is the purpose behind publishing your own newsletter. This also allows you to develop a relationship based on trust with your subscribers.

This strategy is a delicate balance between providing useful information with a sales pitch. If you continue to write informative editorials you will be able to build a sense of reciprocity in your readers that may lead them to support you by buying your products.

3. Ask for higher than normal commission from merchants. If you are already successful with a particular promotion, you should try and approach the merchant and negotiate a percentage commission for your sales.

If the merchant is smart, he or she will likely grant your request rather than lose a valuable asset in you. Keep in mind that you are a zero-risk investment to your merchant; so do not be shy about requesting for addition in your commissions. Just try to be reasonable about it.

Write strong pay Per Click ads. PPC search engine is the most effective means of advertising online. As an affiliate, you can make a small income just by managing PPC campaigns such as Google AdWords.  Then you should try and monitor them to see which ads are more effective and which ones to dispose of.

Try out these strategies and see the difference it can make to your commission checks in the shortest of time.

Building affiliate marketing websites the correct way

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 1:39 pm

There are some myths in affiliate marketing, which attract a lot of people to it believing they are true. First is they think managing an online business is easy and second, they think that one can make a fortune through online marketing in an instant. Probably not even 10% of those who are into affiliate marketing became rich overnight. There may be some who fortunately achieved overwhelming success in just a short span of time after setting up an affiliate program, but not a majority of them can confidently say they only had luck. Anyone who is successful in this kind of business would say he worked hard to get to where he is right now. Success in affiliate marketing takes time and hard work, but it’s worth it.

If you are planning to start an affiliate program, one of the things you have to consider is having your own website, not just an ordinary website but a professional looking one. How do you build an affiliate marketing website? What are the easy steps to build one? First, you must have already decided on the theme or niche of your website. It would be better if you already have an idea what products or services to promote as this would help you plan the design and lay-out of your web pages. The next thing to do is to choose a domain name and get it hosted. The domain name is a unique name used to label the actual address of your website on the Internet. In deciding what domain name to register, look into the type of products you are endorsing and the theme of your site. Having the right keywords in your domain name would give you better chances of drawing more visitors to your website. Also, choose a top level domain or extension, such as .com because it is more popular. In selecting your web host, consider the security of servers and up time guarantees.

The key to draw visitors to your website is to have high quality content; thus, the next thing you must pay attention to in building your marketing website is this. There may be several other factors that contribute to the success of your affiliate marketing site, but a good content tops the list. This is precisely the reason why users choose to enter your site. They want to get information and so when they don’t find it, they would definitely go elsewhere. Write interesting articles related to your theme as this would make them frequent your site. If you have already looked for affiliate programs that complement your site, add links to the business sites and other very good informative sites. Links contribute to how well you will be listed in major search engines as well. Also, create pages for the products you are endorsing, but don’t just promote the products by putting hyped-up ads. Keep your readers interested by injecting lots of relevant and useful information. This would make them click the link to the business site and buy the product. Remember that no good content means no frequent visitors, no sales and ultimately, no commission.

Make your site simple yet not without a touch of class in order to make it appear more of a business website rather than a personal website. This would be pleasing to the eyes and more interesting to browse. To help you with the design, you can check some successful online stores to get an idea on how you can make your site look better. Make sure you don’t place too many banner ads since these could distract some site users; and thus, instead of clicking your ad, they might just leave your site and look for other interesting websites. After all, banner ads are not the only means of advertising your products. Now your website is complete, submit its URL to major search engines to increase your traffic.

Grow from where you started. Learn about use of keywords for search engine optimization and apply them in your content. Update your site regularly or add new webpages. Make sure to inform your prospects about the latest updates in your site. You can use newsletters to accomplish this. The Internet offers a huge source of information about just anything, make use of it. Continue to educate yourself on how to improve your website and soon you’ll find yourself successful in affiliate marketing.

Now, you can start creating your webpages. Don’t be disheartened when you know a little in this field. There are page generation tools and fast launch sites available online; you just have to search for them. Countless online sources could help you build an affiliate marketing website, though you might need time to study and learn the whole process. This is one of the reasons why your site or the products you are going to promote must match your interest. Building your marketing website for the first time would be a lot more fun if you know very well the theme of your site. If you don’t have time to make your own website, you can use templates or purchase readily available websites. The latter, however, is a more expensive option.

Creating an affiliate website on your own would be cheaper and more interesting. In the process of building your website, you may also increase your knowledge in Information Technology and the use of computers, softwares and the Internet. As you educate yourself in these fields, you are increasing your advantage against other affiliate marketers. It helps a lot, though, if you already know the basics in web page development like programming languages and graphics softwares because you can make your site extra corporate-looking, more convenient to use or easier to navigate. Furthermore, if you are knowledgeable and skillful in this area, you can already concentrate more on the content of the page rather than the design.

Choosing the right Affiliate Networks to promote

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 3:10 am

There are many horror stories about affiliate programs and networks. People have heard them over and over again, that some are even wary of joining one. The stories they may have heard are those related to illegal programs or pyramid schemes. Basically, this kind of market does not have real, worthy product.

You do not want to be associated with these schemes. It is obvious you want to be with a program that offers high quality product that you will readily endorse. The growing number of those who have joined already and are succeeding immensely is proof enough that there are reliable and quality affiliate programs out there.

Why participate in an affiliate program?

It allows you to work part-time. It gives you the opportunity to build a generous residual income. And it makes you an owner of a small business. Affiliate programs have already created lots of millionaires. They are the living testimony of how hard work; continuous prospecting, motivating and training others pay off.

If ever you are deciding to join one, you must take note that you are getting into something that is patterned to what you are capable of. This will be an assurance that you are capable of doing anything to come out successful.

How do you choose a good affiliate program to promote? Here are some tips you may want to look over before choosing one:

1. A program that you like and have interest in. One of the best ways of knowing if that is the kind of program you wish to promote is if you are interested in purchasing the product yourself. If that is the case, chances are, there are many others who are also interested in the same program and products.

2. Look for a program that is of high quality. For instance, look for one that is associated with many experts in that particular industry. This way, you are assured that of the standard of the program you will be joining into.

3. Join in the ones that offer real and viable products. How do you know this? Do some initial research. If possible, track down some of the members and customers to give you testimonial on the credibility of the program.

4. The program that is catering to a growing target market. This will ensure you that there will be more and continuous demands for your referrals. Make inquiries. There are forums and discussions you can participate in to get good and reliable feedbacks.

5. A program with a compensation plan that pays out a residual income and a payout of 30% or more would be a great choice. There are some programs offering this kind of compensation. Look closely for one. Do not waste your time with programs that do not reward substantially for your efforts.

6. Be aware of the minimum quotas that you must fulfill or sales target that is too hard to achieve. Some affiliate programs imposes pre-requisites before you get your commissions. Just be sure that you are capable of attaining their requirements.

7. Select one that has plenty of tools and resources that can help you grow the business in the shortest possible time. Not all affiliate programs have these capacities. Make use you decide on one with lots of helpful tools you can use.

8. Check out if the program has a proven system that can allow you to check your networks and compensation. Also check if they have it available online for you to check anytime and anywhere.

9. The program that is offering strong incentives for members to renew their membership each time. The affiliate program that provides continuous help and upgrades for its products have the tendency to retain its members. These things can assure the growth of your networks.

10. Be aware of the things that members are not happy about in a program. Like with the ones mentioned above, you can do your checking at discussion forums. If you know someone in that same program, there is ho harm asking if there are many downsides involved.

Have a thorough and intensive knowledge about the affiliate program and network you will be promoting on.

Knowing the kind of program you are getting yourself into will make you anticipate and prevent any future problems you may encounter.

3 tactics to improving affiliate marketing

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 9:12 am

One of the fastest way for Internet Marketing newcomers to start earning profit and paycheck is by selling other people’s products. You can earn reasonable and attractive commission for either getting people to visit the product web site or when a sale is made through you.

There are different affiliate marketing payment plans. Start with one that pays higher commissions for sales made and also for those which pays referral fees.

Affiliate marketing is not much different from normal brick and mortar business. Most affiliate products comes ready with the necessary banners, sales pitch and whatever that is needed by the affiliate marketer to convert prospects into buyers.

Even though affiliate marketing is easy to begin with, nevertheless by no means does it implies automatic and easy or quick big fat paycheck and profit.

Hard work and dedication is all part and parcel of successful affiliate marketer strategy. There are tactics and strategies that you can and which you should use in on line affiliate marketing that will increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing on line.

Among the various techniques, 3 tactics stands out and all affiliate marketers must know and implement these tactics in order to survive on line.

The 3 tactics are :

1) Using unique web page to promote each separate marketed product
2) Offer free reports to your readers.
3) Get targeted traffic to your product.

  • Using unique web page to promote each separate marketed product
  • If possible, apply for a domain name that relates to the product that you are marketing. For instance, you should not get a domain name www.fun_games.com if you are dealing with health and wellness products. Apply for a domain name that make sense and relevant to the product you are marketing.
It is quite cheap to get a domain name nowadays and if you are really tight in cash, get a domain name that is not too specific nor too generic.

Ideally you should do the following
    www.product1_item.com
    www.product2_item.com

On the other hand, you can set up your web site for for product1 and product 2 if you want to use the same domain name.

    www.stargaterich.com/product1
    www.stargaterich.com/product2

Do not lump all the differentiate affiliate products of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

    Product reviews
Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing. If possible try to contact the product manufacturer and ask for testimonials.

    Benefit of the product
You should write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

  • Free reports.
  • People are usually attracted to free bonuses such as free reports, free newsletters and etc. Attract readers and prospects by offering free reports.

If possible position the free reports at the very top side of your page so that is visible and readers will take notice of it. Try to create auto responder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their in boxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as
possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older Spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading
them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

  • Targeted traffic to your product.
  • Getting high traffic to your affiliate marketing product website is one thing, getting quality traffic that converts prospects to buyers is more important though. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that are focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest and lead them to your web site.

Try to submit a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.
Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.

Mistakes that Internet Marketer newbie makes.

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 8:46 am

One common mistake that many Internet Marketer newbie make is developing a product first and then tries to find a market for it. The process should be the reverse, explore the market first, size up the potential return for that market, find out what consumer wants and then develop a product or service around it.
One of the challenges faced by IM newbie is where to begin with regards to market research and figure out what products to market. A big mistake that some IM newbie commit is trying to make money within the Internet Marketing industry.

No doubt there’s huge market demand and profit to be made in the Internet Marketing arena, the competition though is aggressive, tough and usually dominated by the big guys, those so called Internet Gurus so to speak. Of course that does not mean you have no chance in competing against the bigger and more experience Internet Marketers, it is just that you wouldn’t want to compete head on with those who has well known good reputations, bigger lists and more experience selling Internet Marketing products.

Try to consider other niche market to begin with if you are a newbie instead of going directly into pure Internet Marketing. Firstly determine your area of interest, topics which you are familiar with and have experience and insights. It takes some time to identify the niche market associated with the area or topic that you have identified.

Checkout online forums on area of interest and gather as much information about the market that you intend to enter into. Forums and discussion groups such as Yahoo answers, Google Zeitgeist, eBay Pulse are some of the websites that may provide you with hot topics. Take your time to study the market that you have identified, talk to your friends and if possible try to get an Internet Marketing mentor to help you out with your first Internet Marketing business.

    HTML and FTP knowledge

One of the biggest mistake most aspiring Internet Marketer beginners made is that they assume they could be successful without having the need to know HTML or FTP software. True enough, you don’t need to become an expert in HTML or FTP to begin with, however you do need to eventually understand the basics of HTML and FTP in order to be able to create or maintain your own web site and to upload the web pages you created to your web hosting site. Not unless you are prepared to forge out hundred of dollars to get someone to get the job done for you.

Forget about those so-called Internet Marketing Guru’s who tell you that you don’t need to learn nor understand any HTML or FTP knowledge. It is just plain BS coz even though there are many ready to made website cater to people who don’t know anything about HTML or FTP, the fact of the matter is that if you aren’t familiar with HTML or FTP, your Internet Marketing success is pretty limited and restricted.

There are many free HTML editors which can help you jump-start your website creation, notably those with WYSWYG capability. WYSWYG stands for ‘what you see if what you get’ feature which helps you to generate webpage on the fly via powerful user graphical interface instead of coding in HTML syntax.
One of the best free WYSYG tool available is NVU. You get to download NVU from http://nvu.com. One you get familiar with NVU; do take time to view the source that is in HTML syntax to improve your understanding of HTML. FREE PRODUCTS AINT ACTUALLY FREE AFTER ALL!

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 2:15 pm

Beware of Internet Marketers that goes around promoting freebies in their websites. Quite often the so –called ‘FREE’ products or services are actually not free in the true sense. Rather, in quite a number of instances, the free product or services is only valid for a certain period of time after of which you may be charge monthly fees thereafter.

It is such a shame that even famous and well known Internet Marketers would opt to display the word ‘FREE’ knowing very well that many new Internet Marketers aspire to be does not realize that some of these ‘FREE’ product or service is only applicable and valid for a period of time after of which subsequently they will be charge with follow up monthly fees. Instead of confusing and perhaps unintentionally tricking people into thinking that the offer is absolutely ‘FREE’, Internet marketers should in all honesty states explicitly and clearly that the ‘FREE’ offer is actually CONDITIONAL offer with subsequent fee charges if it is so.

Beware and look through the fine details, keep your eyes wide open and read the fine print carefully if any promotional offers deem ‘FREE’ requires you to pay ‘zero’ amount dollars amount via online payment such as PayPal. If the offer is truly free there is no reason why one should make any online payment even if it is ‘zero’ amount of dollars.

I have come across some FREE offers which are in actual fact CONDITIONAL time sensitive trial free offer that require you making online payment for delivery of items such as free DVD or book. Once the so-called FREEBIE trial period is over, you will be charge monthly subsequently.
In summary, be alert and don’t be too eager to sign up any online FREE offer that comes along your way. Take time to read the fine print to make sure you understand the condition if any with regards to the FREE offers.

You’ll want to consider cashing in on this marketing scheme, because it is almost a no-fail plan. You’ll need to consider having good connections that you can rely on, as well as, being a good connection yourself.

When it comes to pay-per-click it is where you will get compensated for so many hits. You’ll need to make your products and the website look inviting and also interesting.
