Deciding to start a business

For those who long to be their own boss and make some profits you will find that there are tons of ideas that you can come up with to focus on the business on and market. You will be able to find the best course of action to starting your own business. You will find that there are many perks like being your own boss, making your own schedule, planning your own strategies, and you’ll be able to keep all the profits. There are plenty of people who you will meet and new exciting adventures and people. You will find that there are many important things to consider when you are writing your business plan. You will want to see if your business ideas are something that you can pursue. You will find that there are customers, other businesses, and even the demands of your own life that will determine if a business is right for you.

First, don’t be afraid to ask the general public (in the form of friends, family members, and neighbors) what they think about your idea. If there is resounding uncertainty, then you may want to rethink your plan. Also, you will want to ask yourself how much you think others will pay for your services or products or how often you will need the services. This will help you with your prices and focus on the demand part of the company. This can help you learn if it is financially feasible.

You will also want to get a better grasp on your finances. Remember, you can learn of their mistakes. There are lots of financial fees that you may not realize, such as licensing, employee benefits, and travel expenses. You may want to seek out the advice of others who run their business sin the community so that you can get an idea of how much the business is going to initially cost you. They also may be able to recommend services to you, such as business plan writing companies who can help you get your ideas onto paper.

Also, make sure that you ask yourself several times if this is really what you want to do. If your excitement for your service or product idea disappears after a week or two, then starting a business based around this idea will probably fail. Make sure that the time and money that you will put in the commitment will help you to see benefits, but also make sure that you are willing to put your time into the business since it could take at least two years before you see success.

When it comes to starting a business you will find that it is never easy. You will also want to keep in mind that the hard work and dedication needed for the business will take some precious time away from other aspects of your life. So many ideas or businesses fail before they even give it a chance. You should start your business if only you have carefully seen all of the advantages and disadvantages of owning your own business.

Not All Private Label Right’s Are Created Equal

PLR or Private Label Rights products have fast become popular in recent times due to their ability to be re-edited and transformed into new and original products.  Owing to their editable nature they are the closest thing to having your own product without actually creating it from scratch.

The only caveat to PLR products is that your use is limited only by the types of rights you have ownership of.

It pays to check your rights before you purchase so that there are no nasty surprises if you ever decide to promote your products on sites such as eBay.

The reason why there are restrictions and that not every author allows the original piece of work to be promoted just anywhere is so that the content maintains its value for longer.  How many times have you come across auctions sites and the same product you bought for $27 is selling for $1?  It makes it more difficult for others to sell the same product for more when customers can get it much cheaper elsewhere.  The quality perception takes a nosedive and a once fresh product becomes stale as day old bread.  This is why authors have certain stipulations and restrictions on their products which exists to benefit everybody in the long run.

What Are The Types Of Rights?

Basic, ground level Resell Rights:  these are the weakest of the rights.  You only have the right to sell to your products to your immediate customer but they cannot go on to sell that product on to theirs.  So in essence, the product’s main purpose is not for resell purposes but rather the value is in the product itself.  These cannot be edited or altered or re-branded.  This is mostly for the benefit of the original author where their links remain intact and go everywhere you promote their product whereas the reseller makes money only on the sale of the product.  They can never claim ownership of that product because they are not entitled to alter it.

Master Resell Rights

Unlike Basic Resell Rights resellers have the ability to sell on the Resell Rights to their customers where they in turn can sell them to theirs.  Not only is the product of interest in this situation, but the business opportunity is usually the most appealing part and holds the most value.  Customers know they can make money from it.  The Master Resell Rights can be offered as a One Time Offer after your customer has purchased your product or product with along with rights can be sold as one package.  Like Basic Resell Rights, the product cannot be edited or altered in any way and must be sold in the form it was purchased in.

Private Label Rights

These are more flexible in that you can alter the content and claim yourself as the author.  It pays to alter the title and product name so that it will appear as a completely original and unique piece of work.  You can also dress your products in new packaging complete with graphics.  You are not bound by the same terms and conditions as the other resell rights and you’re not promoting the original author but yourself.  There however may be some restrictions that may come with standard Private Label Rights and chances are you probably won’t be able to sell them on auction sites.  You’ll most likely have to alter and re-edit the content so as not to clash with others selling the same product.

Unrestricted Private Label Rights

These are the mint rights you can possibly get hold of.  It’s the ability to do whatever you want with the content with zero restrictions.  Not only can you re-edit and claim yourself as the author but you can also sell the raw source code (which is usually the text in the form of a Word document) as is, without editing.  You can sell the product without editing (not suggested as you want to stand out from the other people too lazy to alter theirs).  You’ll be able to give the content away as freebies and bonuses and chances are you’ll be able to sell them on auction sites for whatever price you want.  So these are by far the best rights, although may cost a little more than your standard resell are the most powerful in terms of the potential uses with the added benefit of promoting yourself and not another authors product.

Experiment with resell products, try the different rights and what suits your style best.  You may want to try basic resell to begin with as there is no re-editing or information altering required.  You on the other hand may be comfortable re-editing and so Private Label Rights might be more your thing.

Now you know the different types of rights out there and their benefits and restrictions, try them all and see what works best for you.

How to get Your PLR Noticed Above Everyone Else’s

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 2:45 pm

It’s true there are fortunes to be made with Private Label Rights Products but only if you do it right.  It’s far simpler than you think and only requires a little creative thinking to turn it into a lucrative income puller.

Here are 3 pointers to help you make money with PLR to get you noticed from the crowd.

  1. Don’t Sell Yourself Short

To make money with  Private  Label  Rights products  don’t feel the pressure by having to undercut your competition, instead of going cheaper to compete with all those $1 auction sales, raise your price. Doing so raises the perception that  your  product  is  quality. People are fickle creatures, if they see your product selling for slightly higher the will wonder why others are selling theirs for cheap. Is the product heavily discounted due to quality?, is there something  wrong with the product?  So, raise your product price and with it you’ll raise the products perception of quality.

  1. Don’t Be A Copycat

If you want to step out of the crowd of the masses selling the same thing you are then don’t be a crowd follower.

Depending upon the varying degree of resell rights you have you can alter your content.

If you have Unrestricted Private Label Rights, you basically have the keys to the vault, this is the mac daddy of all rights and you can alter the content as much as you want.  You can re-name it so that it becomes a completely new and original product never before seen on the market. Change the table of contents, shift chapters around, break up chapters

and turn them into mini volumes belonging to a whole set, sell them individually or together for a higher price.

Change your graphics, nothing gives a product a new lease of life than with a new graphic, people tend to buy with their eyes.

You don’t  have  to be limited to what everyone else is doing, you don’t get points for that. So be as different as you possibly can be, it only takes a little time and imagination.

3 Different Formats

In this day and age we are not restricted to the written word this is especially true online, with the advent MP3 and video.

Why not take your content and record it as an audio recording, sell it as a product or offer it as a bonus in addition to your main e-book.

You can even burn  it  CD and sell it as a physical product offline. People still perceive physical products to be of higher value.  Slip an up-sell into your packaging for your next info product. You could also do mail-outs for future product launches you may have in mind.

Remember those Small Business Opportunities magazines that were big in the 80’s and 90’s?   You would buy a report from one of their display ads for $37. Within the report detailed how you could make money selling information where you were then directed on  to  buy a  home  study course for $400-$500.  That’s where the real fortune was made, in the up-sell, the initial teaser $37 report paid for the display ad.

There’s nothing to limit you from doing  that  yourself.  Burn all of your digital products onto CD’s and sell them as an entire package as a high end product. Information is valuable because people can apply it to improve their own lives.

You can also record your PLR content using Camtasia and make a video. E-books are readily abundant but video is still this new emerging media, use it to your advantage and increase your products perceived value with it.

Earning money with PLR is not rocket science, it’s simpler than you think yet so few people ever do it properly. That little bit of extra-invested time pays big dividends in the long run, so get to it.

Strategy and execution

Strategy and execution is two extreme end of the same spectrum. Is it possible for someone to be a good strategist and also at the same time being able to execute the strategy effectively? It is difficult to wear the two hats at the same time and many of those who tried sidetrack and failed.

Strategy can be link to innovation while execution can be link to optimization.

A professional football coach may be a good strategist and play instrumental role in guiding his team to break out the defense column of opposition team thus wining the match. However it is up to the team in the field to actually execute the tactics and strategy as advised by the coach, swiftly and by the numbers. A good swimmer coach need not necessary be a strong swimmer in order train successful medal winning awards swimmers.

The moral of the story is that always compliment your skills set and ability with other supporting resources if necessary to bring your success to greater heights. Successful people use the power of leveraging, leveraging the skill set and resources of others to achieve their goals. It is just not worth the effort and time to want to do everything by oneself. If you are an Internet business marketer, outsourcing your project to professionals and experts who can actually get the coding job done is important while you focus your time on the marketing strategy and other aspects of the business.

Plan short and long term goals

Our mind is constantly pondering between the past and the future. Most of the time, it is either disappointed or sad about the past or anxious about the future. Surely enough we can’t predict what the future will be however that does not give a good reason not to plan about the future.
Most people do not like to ask themselves the question as to where they would like to be after a few years down the road. Why do we want to avoid such question if possible? Deep down inside us lies hidden sense of insecurity and undetermined with regards to the future.

Quite often we regret what we do after some time. Whatever we plan and do today will impact our future. Life is not a bunch of roses. Unless you are born into the royal or the rich family, health, wealth and happiness do not fall from the sky so to speak. We have to work and strive hard to earn our keep.

We have to strive to gain the happiness that we yearn for. All said and done, things only go according to our desire if we plan and execute short and long term goals. Not only should we plan our goals, we also need to plan the means and methods to work towards them. Do make a list of things that you want to achieve. You may have plenty of wish list, select few things that really matter to you the most and focus on creating short and long-term goals to achieve it. Learn to prioritize your goals accordingly. Focus on the more important goals and break the goals into smaller, measurable and achievable short-term sub goals. If we put things that will give us maximum fulfillment in the long term, smaller things will automatically fall in place.

5 Easy Ways To Make Money with PLR

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 4:05 am

If you already own a resell rights product package of your own or are about to buy one to make a profit from, there are 5 simple things you should in order to make the most money out of your resell rights package.

Recently over the past two years, resell rights have catapulted onto the scene.

Their popularity owes to the fact that you don’t need to create your own product from scratch and you have an existing product  that you have permission to alter (depending upon the rights you have) and place your name on it as if you were the author.

You’ll find resell rights products cropping up all over the place and no doubt you’ve downloaded your fair share.

In order to sell more than the odd one occasionally you need to stand out from your competition.

Here are 5 Steps that will outline how you can make money with your resell rights.

1 – Don’t Follow The Crowd

You’ll notice the same products promoted the same way cropping up like mushrooms all over the place online.  People fail to stand out from the crowd and be memorable.

Don’t do what everyone else does or expect to get the same results.  If people are selling for a dollar the same product you are, sell yours for $17.00 and throw in a complimentary report on how to use the product and how to get the most out of it.

Most  people  haven’t  even tried or tested what they’re selling and you and I know when it comes to people handing over their hard earned cash, want to check under the hood first.  So be different.

2 – Alter Your Content

If  you  hold  the rights to the grand daddy of all coveted rights, the Unrestricted Private Rights Resell License, this means that you have artistic license to do anything you want with the content.

If you have the rights to alter your content, then do so.

I’ve bought several reports and e-books that contain key components of contents that came from an original source, but that showed that the vendor I bought from took the time to change their content and as a result I purchased them as a new and unique product.

Re-edit the content, always alter the title to start with, this will give you an idea of the direction you want to take with your altered content.  You can make it shorter or longer. Alter the chapters, the table of contents, turn it into mini reports, report giveaways.  Use your imagination.

3 – Alter Your Packaging

Nothing says new like  a  facelift  and what better way than to  breath new life into your resell product with a brand new graphic or packaging.

The impact a new graphic makes, everyone knows there’s a hot new product on the loose because you’ve never seen the graphic before.

There are several good quality companies out there selling their services as e-packaging designers. These are the talent behind some of the snazziest e-book covers out there on the net.

Do a Google search for “E book Cover Designers” you will usually find the best ones within the first 10 pages.

They are reasonably priced and well worth it in terms of extending your resell product life expectancy.

 4 – Alter the Format

What better  way to make your “same everyone elses” resell content as different as possible then by distancing yourself from the usual A4 page sized format.

You’re not  restricted to what you can do with your resell rights products anymore.  You don’t even have to settle for the written word.  Take the content and record it as an MP3, use it as an e-zine podcast where your subscribers can get a chapter each week.

Use it as an MP3 audio recording to sell.

Burn it  as a CD and sell it as a physical product, an awesome way to get your prospects snail mail address and to send an  extra  up-sell  along  with  your CD.  People are not as accustomed to offline One Time Offers or up-sells as they are online.  Slipping an extra offer at a discounted price is the offline equivalent of your online up-sell.  You’ll get great results as it’s not a technique that’s been overly used.

5 – Convert To Video

Along the same lines as our audio content, you can also make your text come alive with video.

Web  2.0, or  web  marketing  encourages  user  based  input  is  very hot right now and will continue to be so, capitalize  on this growing new market.

You could create text slides with your voice narrating.  Give a Camtasia demonstration on how your product works with your web site URL clearly displayed at the end of your video which will lead viewers straight to your product.  Guide people to join your list and sell them relevant offers and up-sells.

So as  you  can  see,  there are no limits to what you can do with Private Label Rights products, you just have to think outside  the  box  and  you’ll have an advantage over the many selling the exact same thing.

What Exactly Is PLR? (Private Label Rights)

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 1:26 pm
Tags:

You would have seen a huge revolution in product creation since PLR burst onto the scene and became especially huge during the past few years. But what exactly is PLR?

You no doubt you’ve heard that phrase touted about the internet before and without boring you with a long explanation, PLR is simply Private Label Rights.

Private Label Rights is basically a piece of original work, i.e. a digital product such as a report, e-book, a transcript, an MP3 recording, video, article, etc created by an author who has given full consent for others to use his/her work for themselves.

Whoever buys or receives this PLR piece of work can then alter or re-edit the information and place their name as the creator of the product without actually writing it from scratch themselves.

Why would the creator of the PLR consent to give away full rights to their piece of work? They can usually sell their work on the front end and if it’s quality will keep people coming back for more. There is no shortage of people willing to pay for quality PLR as it’s a convenient way to get products out there faster without having to do all the research and leg work of creating the product from start to finish themselves.

Not All PLR Is Created Equally

Before purchasing PLR, check the rights you are buying, make sure your operate within the rights terms of conditions

Some may be plain PLR which means you have to respect and adhere to the wishes of the author, there are still terms and conditions attached to their body of work that must be abided by and you will usually find this tucked away within a “Rights” word document, there you will find the stipulations on what you can and cannot do with the content. In certain instances you may not be able to give it away for free or sell them on auction sites. Some PLR state that you may not be able to sell below a certain price so as to hold the products value.

With Unrestricted PLR on the other hand, you have the keys to the bank vault. These usually come with no terms or conditions which means you can do pretty much anything you want. You can sell it for whatever price you wish, on auction sites and in the exact same form as which you purchased it in, you also have the right to sell the source code, which is the raw document format the PLR came in so that others can alter and sell the product on as their own unique content.

If you want to sky rocket your earnings, it pays to alter the content and to be different. Give people a reason to buy from you rather than from the hoard others selling the same thing at a $1 per piece.

So as you can see, there is no way to put you in the product creation driving seat quicker than with PLR.

Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace

Filed under: Facts of life — stargaterichgoh @ 12:52 pm

At times it is easy for us to loose our cool and act irrationally when we feel we have been wrongfully accused or criticized unfairly. Our thoughts and judgments may be clouded due to emotional charge outburst and we might live to regret our outburst and anger later.

Below excerpt from Bob Cox which touch right on keeping our cool at all times.

By Bob Cox

You’re at a wedding… at that crucial point in the ceremony when anyone who can show just cause why the couple should not be “united in holy matrimony” is asked to “speak now or forever hold your peace.” I doubt that you’ve ever actually seen someone stand up and give “just cause.” But back in the day when arranged marriages were the norm, it did happen. Often, a dowry was involved. And if that obligation had not been met, the groom’s family could speak up to put a stop to the proceedings.

I didn’t bring up the phrase “speak now or forever hold your peace” because I want to talk about weddings. I did it because I want to convince you to carry it in your head – always – to remind yourself never to speak until the time is right. And the time is right when the other person is ready to listen.

A Common Success Faux Pas You Must Avoid

Why is it so important to wait to speak until the other person is ready to listen? It’s simple. Speaking out of turn, interrupting, or speaking defensively can negatively impact your goals.

Here’s an example of what I mean…

John, the human resources director for one of my consulting clients, was upset. The owner of the company, Mr. B, had cornered him and asked him why they were paying more for a particular service than other people in the same business.

Mr. B owns an insurance franchise that has access to a national insurance program. The renewal rates for insurance companies involved in national programs are based on a variety of factors, including the state they’re in, number of transactions, loss history, and other actuarial considerations. Mr. B believed that he was paying the same (or even less) than the other franchise holders. When he found out that wasn’t the case, he demanded that John make “something” happen to change his perceived slight.

From what John told me, it sounded like he had made the common success faux pas of not speaking up early on – when he first thought this might be a concern for Mr. B. And because he had invested so much time and energy into making the best possible rate deal for Mr. B, he was very defensive when he did speak up.

When Is the Right Time to Speak Up?

Had John asked for my advice, I would have told him to take this approach:

Step 1. Let Mr. B say everything he needs to say. Let him get it all out. And even when you think he’s done, ask him, “Mr. B, is there anything else you want to add? Have you shared all your thoughts with me?”

It’s important not to interrupt Mr. B. At this point, he is not ready to listen to the facts or to your perspective. But, eventually, he will calm down. He will notice that you haven’t said anything, and will ask you to comment.

By not interrupting, you give yourself time to compose yourself instead of immediately – and defensively – reacting. You also give yourself the opportunity to really listen to what Mr. B is saying. (Too often, we assume that we know what the other person is going to say.)

Step 2. Restate the problem so Mr. B knows you understand it. Then ask him if he has any thoughts for a solution.

Be patient. Keep in mind that Mr. B obviously feels very strongly that he is right. Let the man speak.

Step 3. Offer your own suggestions – or politely explain to Mr. B why he may be wrong in thinking he is paying too much.

Mr. B may not initially grasp what you are trying to tell him. But he will settle down. He will become receptive to listening to the facts. Most businessmen want to know what is really going on and what options are available to make a bad situation better.

I had a meeting with John and Mr. B this past week. The primary goal was to bring Mr. B up to speed on where he’s at in terms of the rates he’s being charged by the national insurance company, and to make sure he’s comfortable with the way his claims are being handled by them. But I also wanted to give John some tools to help him communicate effectively with Mr. B in the future.

After all was said and done, Mr. B realized that the rates he’s being charged are, indeed, competitive. Perhaps more important, he came away from the meeting with ideas for things he can do now that will lower his rates when the next renewal comes around.

Meanwhile, John learned more about how to deal with his boss. He understood that when Mr. B started asking questions implying that John wasn’t doing his job, that was not the time for him to say “I object” and begin listing everything he had done to date.

Don’t Take the Bait!

When your boss – a supervisor, manager, team leader, or even the company’s owner – says to you, “Is this all you can do?” my advice is not to take that bait. Your natural tendency will be to become:

emotional
argumentative
aggressive
It’s better to “hold your peace” and calmly respond with something like, “From what I know right now, yes, that’s all I can do. But I will do more research and get back to you as soon as I can.”

Here’s another way to take advantage of the “speak now or forever hold your peace” approach. When you are writing to ask someone to review or respond to a time-sensitive document, take two steps back and add something like the following to your e-mail or letter:

“I look forward to receiving your response by _______ [enter date]. If I don’t receive any additions/corrections to the attached draft by ______ [enter date], I will assume it has your approval and will proceed.”

Caution: Use this approach sparingly… more to cover your bases than to actually nail down the other person. And I wouldn’t recommend using it multiple times to the same recipient. They could see you as:

not fully communicating your thought/ideas/solutions in the first place.
trying to force them into a decision before they are ready.
Still, establishing a time/date boundary draws attention, and that should prompt a faster response. Give it a try. Just remember, it is like salt on a salad… a little goes a long way.

In closing, let me say that if you make “speak now or forever hold your peace” part of your mindset during any negotiation or discussion, you can more easily contribute to a solution instead of adding fuel to the fire.

Remember, nobody likes to receive what they perceive to be bad news – especially people in a position of authority. You don’t want them to feel like they have to “kill the messenger.” Rather, you want to be mindful of success techniques that can help you resolve problems and move your goals (whether they are professional, personal, social, or health-oriented) forward.

You Can Sell Anything on eBay – Or Can You?

Filed under: Internet Marketing — stargaterichgoh @ 2:08 pm

Over 100 million people are members of eBay. Through eBay, you can buy items in almost any
category that you can imagine – at great prices. You can also sell almost anything you can
imagine on eBay – people often sell items that have absolutely no real value for very high prices. There are limits, however, to what can be bought and sold.

eBay does not allow certain items to be auctioned through their website. Services are one type of ‘item’ that cannot be auctioned – simply because it is not an item. Some seller’s blatantly ignore this however. The sell of other items is illegal, even if it isn’t being sold through eBay. eBay restricts the sale of any type of item that is considered ‘illegal for sale’ in any other selling format. Illegal items such as satellite descramblers are forbidden as well.

Anything that is copyrighted – such as copies of DVDs, CDs, or software – may not be sold through
eBay auctions. You can, however, sell a DVD, CD, or any software that you bought legitimately…as
long as you are not just selling a copy that you made of these types of items. eBay does not allow
the sale of ‘replicas.’ A replica is a knockoff version of designer items, such as purses, dresses, shoes,
or sunglasses that look identical to those that have designer labels.

Items that are regulated by the state or federal government are forbidden on eBay. These items
include alcoholic beverages, weapons and firearms, all tobacco products, and both prescription and
illegal drugs. There are small exceptions to this rule, however. If you have a collectable, such as a tin that contains tobacco, you may sell that item if the package has never been opened, and if you state the contents of the package are not meant for consumption. There are other conditions that must be
met as well when selling these types of collectables.

Any type or breed of animal or reptile may not be sold through an eBay auction. This includes animals
that were once living, and are now stuffed and mounted. This rule may also apply to items that are
taken from endangered species, such as Ivory. When it comes to these types of items, when in doubt,
don’t.

Tickets may be sold, but it is illegal to sell tickets for a higher price than you originally paid for them.
This is called ticket scalping, and it is illegal. Lottery tickets are also banned from eBay
auctions, as well as raffle tickets. Again, if you are not sure if your item is eligible for an eBay auction,
either don’t put it up for auction, or contact eBay to get an answer one way or the other. Don’t risk
breaking the law!
